school youth work
School youth work is a form of youth work where the youth worker is an integral part of the school’s weekly routine, as part of the school staff. The main tasks and objectives of the school youth worker are to increase the participation and activity of young people, to foster a sense of community and to improve school well-being, both at individual and group level.
The school youth worker works from Monday to Friday, with one day (Mon-Fri) also dedicated to
youth house and youth events. In this way, the visibility of a wide network of young people is recognised and the visibility and encounter of the school youth worker for young people in other areas of their lives besides school.
Co-created, collaborative ways of working are learned together with teams from different schools.
