Preventive substance abuse work
Substance abuse prevention is part of promoting health and well-being. Its aim is to prevent and reduce the harm caused by substance use, both to substance abusers, their loved ones and to society. It also aims to increase understanding of substance abuse and related phenomena and to promote the realisation of fundamental and human rights in substance abuse matters.
Preventive drug dependence work is defined by law as the prevention of harm caused by alcohol, tobacco, drugs and other intoxicating substances, as well as gambling.
